Lex24 oferă autorilor si editorilor posibilitatea utilizării licențelor Creative Commons pentru a informa cititorii cu privire la modul în care conținutul publicat pe lex24.ro poate fi utilizat. Autorii/editorii pot alege licența Creative Commons care răspunde cel mai bine necesitatilor continutului lor.
Termenii licenței Creative Commons nu se aplică titularului drepturilor de autor, ceea ce înseamnă că atunci când autorul păstrează drepturile de autor fără restricții, licența se aplică cititorilor și editorului.
Atunci când:
- drepturile de autor au fost transferate editorului,
- autorul păstrează drepturile de autor și acordă drepturi exclusive de publicare editorului sau
- autorul păstrează drepturile de autor, transferă sau acordă drepturi comerciale exclusive editorului și este utilizată o licență necomercială,
licența CC se va aplica cititorilor și autorului, nu și editorului.
Licențele Creative Commons oferă tuturor, de la autori individuali la editori, o modalitate standardizată de a acorda cititorilor permisiunea de a utiliza lucrările lor în conformitate cu legea drepturilor de autor. Din perspectiva reutilizatorului, prezența unei licențe Creative Commons pe o lucrare protejată de drepturi de autor răspunde la întrebarea: „Ce pot face cu această lucrare?”
